The Boston Skyline from Robbins Farm Park

The Friends of Robbins Farm Park is a community organization formed to promote the beautification, restoration, and improvement of the Robbins Farm Park located along Eastern Avenue in Arlington Heights, Massachusetts. We sponsor and promote cultural, educational, recreational and other community activities throughout the year. We invite active membership in the organization and seek to represent the Robbins Farm Park community.

Robbins Farm Park Improvements - Summer 2017

Improvements to Robbins Farm Park begin as early as June 22 as construction fencing and signage is installed around project areas in the park. It is anticipated that all elements of the project will be completed by fall 2017, except the baseball/multi-purpose field, which is expected to be open in Spring 2018. That area will need two growing seasons (grass) before opening.

A main objective of the project is to provide improved ADA (Americans with Disability Act) access for the park. The path leading up to the seated overlook will be re-graded and brought into ADA compliance. In addition to the baseball/multi-purpose field updates, another key element is to rehabilitate the basketball court. Additionally, there will be an element added to the old home recognizing the donation of the land by the Robbins Family to the Town of Arlington. Path work will also be performed to the cooperative garden and connecting up to the basketball court.

M.J. Cataldo will be performing the work for the Town. Work areas will be attended to in succession. Please note, in the initial weeks of the project, the off-leash areas at the upper end of the field may be very limited, to not accessible. Also note the Friends of Robbins Farm Park will not be hosting their annual fireworks celebration on July 4th. Please plan accordingly, be mindful of signage, and stay clear of construction areas. The Town thanks visitors to the park for their patience and cooperation as we make these necessary improvements.

The project to improve Robbins Farm Park is guided by Arlington Recreation and Arlington Park and Recreation Commission. A majority of the funding is being provided through the Community Preservation Act (CPA), with additional support from the Friends of Robbins Farm Park.
