FORFP TO RECEIVE MAJOR AWARD FROM ACA

We are very proud and grateful to pass on that the Friends of Robbins Park will be honored by the Arlington Center for the Arts with this year’s Alan McClennen award. It is their major award for contributions to the community and to the arts. The award will be presented at the ACA’s Annual Gala at the Town Hall on Saturday,  March 29.

The award is named for former Arlington Town Planner Alan McClennen who was a driving force behind the creation of ACA in 1988. It celebrates local people and organizations that embody ACA’s values of inspiring joy, nurturing growth, and building community.

Tom Formicola, the Director of the ACA, in his letter to the Friends writes:

“This honor is offered in recognition of your board’s most recent and remarkable volunteer efforts to establish our town’s first playground prioritizing accessibility through universal design principles that invite children of all abilities to play. The award is also extended in acknowledgement of your long history of conducting free cultural programs such as jazz, classical, and popular music concerts, movie nights, art-making activities, and community events like the annual 4th of July Celebration. Because of your hard work, Robbins Farm Park has become a cultural hub where everyone in Arlington is welcome.”

We owe this recognition to our legion volunteers, members, donors, and other contributors of our community who help us to aim toward our goals and accomplish our mission. We proudly share it with all of our many supporters over the years

We invite all who can to join the celebration at the ACA Gala. Funds raised from ticket purchases help fund the ACA’s mission of inspiring joy, nurturing growth, and building community through a dynamic mix of classes, camps, exhibits, and special events.
