Effective immediately, the multipurpose field and baseball diamond at Robbins Farm will be closed for maintenance. After consulting with turf specialists Prescription Turf Services, the Parks & Recreation Commission determined that the grass on both fields will need more time to take root for better long-term sustainability.

As we work to ensure the longevity of these great new fields, we ask that the community assist in this effort by staying off of the fields and allowing the turf time to develop. The fields will be roped off throughout the summer and into the fall/winter, as even unorganized usage would put too much stress on the grass. The Recreation Department is committed to ensuring that any organized activities scheduled to take place on the fields at Robbins Farm are accommodated on other fields around town. This closure will not affect other areas of Robbins Farm.

A timeline for the reopening of the fields will be established upon reassessment of turf development.
